After closing the Mail App and re-opening.about the 4th time!.the subfolders reappeared. Update: IT IS FIXED - BUT still a mystery. One place online suggested going into the menu and using "Synchronize account." Nothing. Not only can you presort unread messages into organized folders, you can keep junk mail out of your inbox. ![]() If I highlight INBOX then go to the Mailbox>Rebuild, the subfolders do NOT reappear. I have tried to find these on the computer to restore them - I know I did not delete all these emails. In my Mac Mail (using ElCapitan 10.11.2 on an iMac if that matters) I was going to create yet another subfolder - clicked on the "+" next to the word, Inbox, and BANG! All my subfolders and their contents were gone from view. However, on another mac on my network, things seem all fine and dandy there. Outlook Inbox folder along with other email folders, emails, attachments. Instead there is a folder called 'Servers' and within that are two shortcuts that lead to the root drive of my Mac (which is named 'glados' on the network). Mac Mail has the ability to rebuild the mailbox and this can resolve most of. In my mail, I had created subfolders for all sorts of things. Strangely within this option the shared servers don't even appear there. ALL of my inbox subfolders have disappeared and I cannot find how to get these subfolders and contents back.
